Manage customers

Create and maintain customer records, their addresses and contact points — the foundation for orders, loyalty and targeting.

1. Create a customer

You can nest an address to create it in the same call. Keep your own id in clientId so you can look the customer up later without storing Zopping ids.

curl -X POST https://zopping.com/api/customer-service/customer \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ZOPPING_TOKEN" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"organizationId":"<org-id>","name":"Asha","phone":"9876543210","email":"asha@example.com","clientId":"CRM-7781"}'

For quick express-checkout shoppers, use the guest endpoint — it upgrades to a full customer on first login.

2. Look customers up

Filter by phone, email or your clientId:

curl "https://zopping.com/api/customer-service/customer?organizationId=<org-id>&phone=9876543210" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ZOPPING_TOKEN"

3. Addresses & contacts

Add delivery addresses (include latitude/longitude so fulfilment can resolve a delivery zone), and manage multiple emails/phones per customer.

curl -X POST https://zopping.com/api/customer-service/address \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ZOPPING_TOKEN" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"organizationId":"<org-id>","customerId":7781,"address":"12 MG Road","city":"Bengaluru","pincode":"560001","latitude":12.9758,"longitude":77.6096}'

4. Tag customers

Apply tags to group customers (e.g. vip, wholesale) for merchandising and targeting:

curl -X POST https://zopping.com/api/customer-service/customer/7781/tag \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ZOPPING_TOKEN" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"organizationId":"<org-id>","tagIds":[3,7]}'
